Series Tied At 2.

I was hoping that I would not use that at the headline but unfortunately this is true. Saskatoon did not play "Blades Hockey" The Raiders did everything better. Sure the Blades scored the 1st goal, but they did not seem to want this game that much.

Wow I am sick to my stomach and I really hope that the Blades come out with a better effort on Saturday. Sure this is a home team series. It does take 4 games to win a series and I think that the Raiders have a lot of momentum now. A lot of people thought this series would be done in 4 or 5 but hopefully the Blades prevail in 6. I can not understand why the Blades have good regular seasons and choke when it counts? (They are not done yet but getting to close for comfort)

Some people will say that maybe the referees help decide this game with some bad calls but whatever.

On a positive note I was the Blades fan that participated in the 2nd intermission tricycle race. (yes I know I lost) but I still won something. ($10 Husky Gift Certificate) Also the fan bus does a pool of pick the scores for the 1st, 2nd and final and my random score was 5-2 Raiders so I went home with $52 and basically went to that game for free!!!!

The Blades have a tough road ahead of them but it can be done. I am sure that none of the guys want to pack up and go home yet. I sure as hell do not want the hockey season to be over.

If the Blades do loose out I think jobs may be on the line here.

Go Blades Go.

Also good thing they caught the Brayden Schenn Facebook impersonator. Hopefully the Blades can put this all behind them.

Blades Lose Game #3.

The way they played they did deserve to lose. The Raiders came out with so much more jump.

The Blades trailed 2-0 after one but within 10 minutes or so of the 2nd the game was tied up.

Saskatoon still leads the series 2 games to 1 with game #4 tomorrow night in PA. I still think that the Blades will take this series in 5.

Hopefully the Blades can get back on track with a win tomorrow night but PA is a difficult place to play in.

Blades Defeat Raiders,Take A 2-0 Series Lead.

Saskatoon had a slow start and I think the entire first period was a bad period. The Raiders scored but the goal was dis allowed because of a high stick.

Brayden Schenn opened up the scoring with a nice deke, backhand goal. Darian Dziurzynski padded the Blades lead with his 1st of the playoffs.

Prince Albert scored in the 2nd period. The Blades did score 3 more goals to get 5 on the night.

There was some fights and more emotion in this game tonight which was good to see. The Blades take a 2-0 series lead. I am excited to be taking in games 3 and 4 in PA next week. It should be 2 games of great hockey.

It will be interesting to see how both teams respond after a change in venue. A Smaller crowd but still a very good atmosphere.

Blades Pound Raiders. Take 1-0 Series Lead

The Blades proved to be too much for the Raiders.

The score was 3-0 after one.

7-1 was the score after 40 minutes.

The Blades are doing everything they need too. If they continue this the series may be done in 4 games.

The final score was 8-1 for Saskatoon.

I think Prince Albert will come out with a better effort on Sunday. I think that the Raiders may win 1 game on home ice.

It will be interesting to see who starts in goal tomorrow for the Blades.

Game #2 tomorrow!! Go Blades Go!!!!

It should be a good one and the rivalry will probably show a lot tomorrow. I am very excited. Check out some of the other game 1's that were played today.... Interesting scores.

Blades VS Raiders 1st round. Blades Defeat Pats

The Pats were up 2-0 but it was probably because Saskatoon's top players were sparingly used. Brett Stovin scored a goal and the Blades did all of their scoring in the final 20 minutes.

Brayden Schenn scored a goal and added an assist.
3-2 Blades prevailed in overtime.

The Blades will close out the season tomorrow night at home.

Here is the schedule for the 1st round.

Blades Steal 2 Points From Warriors

Tonight was a mean nothing game in terms of points and standings but the rivalry was alive.

Each team trading goals all game long. Overtime would solve nothing.

Marek Viedensky shot 1st for the Blades: He burried the puck in the Moose Jaw goal. Sebastian Svendsen and Quinton Howden both failed to score. Brayden Schenn put the game away with his shoot-out winner.

Saskatoon will close out the season with a home and home against Regina on Friday and Saturday night.

As for playoff talk I am hearing 2 different sets of dates for the games in Prince Albert. I have heard Tuesday the 29th and Wednesday the 30th. I have also heard Wednesday the 30th and Thursday the 31st. We know that games 1 and 2 will be Saturday the 26th and Sunday the 27th @ the CUC.

Blades Shut Out Oil Kings

The game tonight was on schedule which was good. The Blades were not themselves tonight,or just a tired bunch. Saskatoon did not score until the 2nd period.

Edmonton was putting on good pressure and taking advantage of a tired Saskatoon team that made mistakes but yet Steven Stanford bailed his team out.

The final score was 4-0. Edmonton came close to breaking the shutout but did not succeed.

In the 3rd period Stefan Elliott recorded an assist which was his 240th point. He now holds the record for most points by a Blades defencemen.

That was a great effort by the Blades tonight and Steven Stanford earned his 3rd shutout of the season.

The Blades next game is on Wednesday against the rival Moose Jaw Warriors. Then Saskatoon travels to Regina to for a game, and Saturday the 19th is the last home game for the Blades this season.

Blades Lose In OT.

Tonight was another close game. The Blades lost 4-3 in overtime and will have to wait until tomorrow to try and get the 53rd win of the season.

Apparently their is a blizzard in Manitoba so the Blades will stay overnight and then come back home tomorrow. Hopefully this will not affect the Blades too much.

Just a note here, according to the WHL score sheet the Wheat Kings never took a penalty.

The Blades take on the Edmonton Oil Kings tomorrow. (If the Blades can get back to Saskatoon in time)

Blades Win in Brandon.

The Saskatoon Blades had a goal in mind(get a win on the road tonight and many more I am sure) but they crossed winning the Scotty Munro trophy off of there list of goals for the season. Can they pass the 07-08 Calgary Hitmen's point total of 122?

The Blades now have 3 more goals: To Clinch the Eastern Conference, and finish atop of the WHL in the playoffs and win the Ed Chynoweth Cup and hopefully Win a Memorial Cup.

16 year old rookie Ryan Olsen scored a goal and added an assist. Marek Viedensky had 2 goals. Brayden Schenn had 1 assist.

The final score was 5-3. The rematch goes Friday in Brandon.

Former Blade Signs An NHL Contract

http://whl.ca/article/cougars-acolatse-signs-with-nhl-s-sharks

He will join former teammate Curt Gogol (who also signed with the Sharks.)

Hard work pays off. I liked watching him when he played for the Blades.

Blades Win Again.

This time their opponent was the Moose Jaw Warriors and there is quite the rivalry between these two teams.

Adam Morrison let in a goal less than a minute into the game.

A fight happened less than 4o seconds in the game so after the 1st goal. Joel Edmundson took on Duncan Siemens of the Blades and this was a good tilt the two stood in their and traded punches for an impressive amount of time.

Also in the 1st period Cody Beach and Marek Viedensky fought but I was hearing around me that Beach did not fairly ask Viedensky to fight. I did not see how it happened. Beach did get the better of Viedensky though.

The score after 1 period was 1-1.

In the 2nd period Darren Dietz wanted to fight Cody Beach but he would not accept. Each were given 2 minute penalties.

The rough battles continued until the end of the 2nd period.

4-1 Blades after 40 minutes.

In the 3rd period the two teams stuck to playing hockey. The Blades scored 3 times and Warriors once.

The final score was 7-2. The Blades now have 104 points, 51 wins and Stefan Elliott needs 2 more points to break the record for most points by a defencemen.

The Blades next games are Wednesday and Friday In Brandon against the Wheat Kings.

Blades Dominate Ice

First off... How about those jerseys?? I loved them.

Brayden Schenn's jersey was the most expensive. I was not expecting to see such a high scoring game tonight.

They asked the Blades who cooks better meals? Your mom? or your Billet? Pretty funny stuff.

Every player except 4 Blades registered a point tonight. Blades led 3-0 after 1 period. How about Josh Nicholls diving goal? I think that one will make Plays Of The Week.

7-0 Blades after 2. Brayden McNabb of the Ice checked Chris Collins from behind and was given a game misconduct. Chris Collins was ok.

In the 3rd period Kootenay broke the goose egg, It was a fun game to watch because of so many goals being scored and this is the type of game that the Blades want to play, because they are good at it.

The defence was solid tonight. No points for Cody Eakin which was surprising. Maybe the Ice just had an off night? Or are the Blades just that good?

9-2 was the final score. 50 wins on the season for the Blades and 102 points.

Saskatoon will host Moose Jaw tomorrow night.

Blades Storm Back: Defeat Oil Kings

The Blades welcomed back Brent Benson and Marek Viedensky to the line-up.

Saskatoon was trailing 4-2 but do not fear Brayden Schenn is here!!!! 3 points for the 19 year old Centre.

Adam Morrison started the game but he was pulled in favor of Steven Stanford.

The final 40 minutes was when the Blades went to work scoring 6 goals and getting the two points it was not pretty but it helps Saskatoon who are 5 points away from clinching the Eastern conference and 7 points away from finishing 1st overall in the WHL.

49 wins,100 points and more records might be broken by the Saskatoon Blades.

The Blades return to Saskatoon for a Friday game against Kootenay and a Saturday tilt with the Moose Jaw Warriors.
