5 members of the Blades participate in the Annual Project face-off....... WHL Scholarship Program

For those of you who do not know what this is,let me do my best and explain it to you.

Each season the Blades select a handful of players to experience first hand what drugs and alcohol abuse can do to a person and other sights that one would not want to witness, the Saskatoon Police Service and RCMP help them out in this experience as well.

They take the players to Vancouver's East Hastings Street where the majority of this takes place. This season Derek Hulak,Adam Morrison,Travis Toomey,Jeremy Boyer, and Darian Dzuiryznski were picked to be educated and witness this type of thing. After this experience the players then visit Saskatoon and area school and talk to grade 6-8 students about the importance of making smart choices in life......

I think this is an AWESOME program that the Blades organization and the City of Saskatoon put together.

The University of Saskatchewan I think has the most WHL players going to school there and taking advantage of the WHL Scholarship program but it is not limited to Canadian Universities..... Check out the Blades website for more detail.

The Blades next action is this Friday in Brandon against the Wheat Kings, and then a date at the Credit Union Centre against the Prince George Cougars on Saturday.
