Blades Sneak Past Warriors.

Let me start off by saying that the Warriors jersey looks pretty good. I love the new jerseys.

Ok on to the game. Randy McNaught made his return from his 5 game suspension, and to be honest I did not see much of him out there.

Moose Jaw started things the way they wanted by scoring the first goal of the game. The play went something like this: I think the Blades lost the puck just outside of their blueline and Brendan Rowinski of the Warriors picked up the black disc dangled past and undressed the Blades defence and put the puck in the net to open up the scoring.

Adam Morrison did make some pretty big saves for the Blades though, and Darian Dzuirzynski engaged in a scrap with Riley Reinbolt of the Warriors.... the result was a draw, and nothing really noteworthy happened after that.

The Warriors took the lead into the 2nd period. The Blades did respond,it was not your typical goal though.... Burke Gallimore was cutting in toward the goal on a partial breakaway and was taken down, and therefore awarded a penalty shot! The result was a goal...He scored on Jeff Bosch. Not every game you see a penalty shot.

The Warriors did gain some momentum but did not manage to score any goals. In the final period the Warriors continued their impressive work in the Blades zone which caused the Blades to call a time out and during the time out Adam Morrison was giving the other 5 players on the ice a tap on the legs....probably saying something like "Thanks for the help". The timeout proved to be successful as Walker Wintoneak scored and gave the Blades a 2-1 lead and eventually won the game for the Blades.

Gaelan Patterson was awarded the ICR Hit of the Game, and Jeremy Boyer was awarded with the Hardest Working Player of the game.

The attendance for a tuesday night was decent 4,954. It was Minor Hockey Night so that helped the numbers as well.

The 3 stars in tonight's game were 1)Adam Morrison 2) Jeff Bosch 3) Walker Wintoneak with the game winner.

The Blades are HOT....they have won 6 in a row and 12 of their last 13 games played.

The Warriors are now 11-7-0-0.

The Blades will re acquaint themselves to the Swift Current Broncos tomorrow night at the Credit Union Centre... Soccer calls my name tomorrow night but there will be a short recap of the game despite my absence from the rink. I will try and listen to Les Lazaruk on the radio though.
